MY JOURNEY SO FAR
I studied BA(Hons) Interior Design at Manchester School of Art (Manchester Metropolitan University) and graduated July 2017. I began my journey into the world of design back in 2010 when I was offered my first work experience placement at Conran and Partners in their Architecture department. Ever since I was thirteen years old, I knew that I had an interest in the design of our environment. Although Architecture fascinated me, I knew that it didn't suit my skills and personality. Conran later gave me the chance to spend a couple of days in the Interior Design department, and since then, I knew that Interior Design was something I'd like to pursue in the future.
After studying Graphics during my GCSEs, and Fine Art during A Levels at High School, I continued to search for opportunities to experience working in an Interior Design studio. I later had internship placements at Areen Hospitality, and Cantor Masters, both furthering my interest and my design skills. I began my degree studying at Manchester School of Art in September 2014.
Besides my work in Interior Design I am keen to give back to society in any way possible. I have been fortunate to be a part of many great teams and committees for leadership programmes (JLGB), fundraising projects, Alpha Epsilon Pi (Jewish Fraternity), and Design Teams (Pangea Festival, and Odyssey). More details about these groups can be found in my full CV. Utilising my leadership skills that I have gained through my experiences have helped me be a strong contributor to any team that I am a part of, and also in wider society.
Seeing the world is really important to me. I have been extremely fortunate to have had so many great opportunities to visit new countries and learn about their cultures and customs. I believe this is and will continue to shape the way I view the world and also how I design in the future. During my time at university I was able to go on study programmes to visit the Venice Biannele as well as Milan Design Week. I would like to continue my travelling over the years to further influence my passion for design and culture.
I am an extremely hard working, organised, confident individual who is considered to be personable and approachable. I am sensitive to the needs of the people around me and I feel this will help me when working with clients and the other people in the working world..
I look forward to see where my Interior Design journey takes me next.
